Prima Persona is a legacy film studio based in Austin, Texas. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit our site, make an inquiry, work with us on a film, or refer a family to us. Information we collect

We collect information in a few ways: what you provide to us, what your family shares while we make your film, and what is gathered automatically when you use the site.

Information you provide. When you submit an inquiry or partner form, write to us, or speak with us, we collect your name, email address, and any phone number, firm, or message you choose to include. As we plan and create a film, you and your family may also share details about the person at its center and the people in their life, scheduling and logistical information, preferences for the work, and similar details needed to do it well.

Production materials. To make your film, you may give us, or we may capture, photographs, recordings, video, documents, and personal stories. These often include personal and family information and are central to the work we are commissioned to do.

Communications. We keep records of our correspondence with you, including emails, messages, call notes, proposals, and agreements, so we can serve you and keep an accurate account of the work.

Payment information. When a deposit or payment is due, it is handled through a trusted payment processor. We receive confirmation and the records we need for our accounts, but we do not store full card numbers ourselves.

Referral source. If an advisor, attorney, or someone you know introduced you to us, we may note who made the introduction so we can thank them and serve you well.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, ours may collect limited technical information when you visit, such as your device and browser type, general location inferred from your IP address, the pages you view, and how you arrived. We use cookies and similar technologies for this, as described below.

We may use essential cookies that make the site work, and analytics cookies that help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. Where data protection law such as the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on one or more of the following bases: performance of our contract with you, or steps taken at your request before entering one; our legitimate interests in running and improving the studio, communicating with you, and protecting our work, provided these do not override your rights; your consent, which you may withdraw at any time; and compliance with a legal obligation.

How we share information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We share it only in these limited ways:

• with the people at Prima Persona who need it to serve you;
• with trusted service providers who work on our behalf, such as email, secure file storage, scheduling, payment processing, and the contractors who help produce a film, all bound to keep it confidential and to use it only for our purposes;
• with professional advisors or partners involved in your engagement, with your knowledge;
• where required to comply with the law, enforce our agreements, or protect rights and safety;
• and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of the business, in which case we will seek to keep your information protected.

We may also share information with your consent.

Marketing and your control

We will not add you to a marketing list you did not ask to join. If you do receive updates from us, every message includes a way to opt out, and you can ask us to stop at any time by writing to admin@theprimapersona.com.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as we need it to serve you, to maintain a record of the work we did together, and to meet our legal, accounting, and contractual obligations. Because a film is an heirloom, we may retain a secure archive of the finished work and its materials as part of caring for it, unless you ask us to delete it. When information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, including secure storage and limiting access to those who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we treat the trust you place in us, and the materials you share, with great care.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, and the services we use may store or process information there or in other countries. If you contact us from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and handled in a country with different data protection laws. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for such transfers.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the information we hold about you, to correct or update it, to ask us to delete it, to receive a copy in a portable form, to restrict or object to certain uses, and to withdraw consent. If you are a California resident, you may request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, request that we correct or delete it, and know how it is used and shared, subject to certain exceptions. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. EEA and UK rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the rights described above under the GDPR or UK GDPR. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, though we hope you will contact us first so we can help.

Children

Our films often celebrate older adults and whole families, and a film may include children whose parents or guardians have agreed to take part. Our services are arranged by adults, this site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 through the site. If you believe a child has provided us information through the site, please contact us and we will remove it.

Other sites

Our site may link to other websites we do not control. This policy does not cover those sites, and we encourage you to read their own privacy policies.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page, and significant changes will be made clear. Your continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
